| What is the GSA Schedule Program? The GSA Schedule is a 5 year contract which is renewable 3 times for a total of 20 years. Once you become a schedule holder you will be able to sell your products and/or services directly to the government. This is through non-bid contracts, per your terms and conditions. The GSA Schedule contract/certification is currently held by 19,000 companies and counting nationwide. The Government purchases well over $500 billion each year worth of products and services with these certified businesses. By obtaining a GSA Schedule you will be opening doors to new and regular purchases by the number one consumer in the world. They also have certain set aside contracts just for women owned, veteran owned, disabled veteran owned, minority owned, regular small business, HUB Zone certified, and 8A certified companies. The government is mandated to use up to 43% of their budgeted money with these types of set asides. Based on the percentage of last year's total purchasing, $215 Billion of the funds went to the above type companies. Furthermore, out of 19,000 schedule holders roughly 12,500 are classified set asides so that breaks down to the average set aside company earning well over $200,000 per year in their first year. The government cannot just do business with any company. They have to know you are qualified to do so by obtaining your GSA Schedule/Certification... Now, not every company qualifies for a GSA schedule. You must have… * Been selling your products or services for at least 2 years in business in most cases * A minimum of $25,000 in annual revenue sales of those products or services each year in the last two years * Have the ability to set pricing - whether it is hourly, by product, square feet, etc. * No felony convictions over the last 3 years on the principles of the business * No company bankruptcies in the last 3 years * No IRS liens or other government liens without a payment plan in place * No federal bid rigging charges in the past. How can you become a Schedule Holder/Preferred Vendor? You cannot simply decide that you want to be a Schedule Holder and fill out a one page form. It is an extensive process that many often are afraid to venture into. If you have ever attempted completing a government certification or responded to an elaborate solicitation, you are familiar with how overwhelming government paperwork can be. Just ask any vendor who has increased their revenue through this vehicle. CVG Strategy can help you get through this process and secure a contract.
